New Heart, New Beginnings.

I guess I could say a lot has happened since I last wrote. My last post was probably the hardest I have ever tried to write. But now, after these months past, it's not as hard to read. There is still that hurt, deep inside, whenever I really stop to think about it. But, like people say, it does get easier.

I did need help though. I had fallen down a deep well of melancholy that I could not, or did not want to, climb out of. I found someone I could talk to, someone impartial that I could say anything that was on my mind. Things I did not want to say to those whom I loved. I guess it is helping. It's a process. One that can not be fixed in a short period of time. Well, enough about me.

Not long after Dads funeral, my husband went on the heart transplant list. It was a blow. The last thing we needed in our time of grief. But we were told it would be at least 3 to 6 months before anything was likely to happen. So we breathed a small sigh of relief and tried to deal with the news as best we could. We had some time to get organised. Train up staff to manage the shop while Hubby would be out of action, get the house in order...those kinds of things.

So you can imagine our utter panic and shock when just 5 weeks later, at 6:30 in the morning, hubby got.. "THE CALL"

I was getting ready for work, one shoe on, the other foot, sockless, when he emerges from the bedroom.

"So, um, I'm going in for a heart transplant."

I look at him. He is as white as a sheet.

"Are you fucking kidding me!"  Yes, that was my reaction. We were totally unprepared. Didn't even have his hospital bag ready. I know I don't have to tell you all that when you are called into hospital, you go to the hospital with all haste. We live an hour's drive away. Things were thrown into bags, the boy woken and dressed and we are in the car in perhaps 10 minutes.

Anyway. Long story short, we arrived at the hospital and hubby had to go through a number of tests and such. Poor thing was out of his mind with worry. It was a stressful day for all. He eventually got wheeled into the operating room at 8pm that evening. The son and I were exhausted. My sister lives near the hospital and she pretty much ordered me to come to her place for a meal and sleep. I got the call that hubby was ok at about 12:30am.

It's been a long hard road for us all, hubby in particular. So far, the heart is behaving beautifully with no signs of rejection. It's the "other" things that you never hear about that are troubling him. The side effects from the copious amounts of drugs he has to take. The extremely restrictive diet he is now on. Things he is feeling now that he actually has a working heart, that he never felt before. Things we take for granted. Like being breathless from doing exercise and not because your heart is stuffed. Having hot toes. Yes, hot toes. Previously, heart disease meant poor blood circulation and...cold toes. All the time.

We don't know anything about the donor. Only thing they were allowed to tell us is that the heart wasn't from the same hospital. It could have come from anywhere in Australia. All we know is that it was a perfect match for my husband and no-one else. This person, no matter who they were and what they did with their life; gave the ultimate gift in their departure. A simple tick on their drivers licence, something they probably never really thought about again, saved my husbands life.

And for that, I will be eternally grateful.

The pain of Loss

Please excuse me if I jump around here.
I don't even know where to begin.
On the 29th of July 2015 my dad lost his battle with cancer. Thankfully, he passed away peacefully in his sleep with my Mum and sister with him. It was Mum's birthday the next day. I was due to arrive two days later. I was too late.
I've never lost anyone close to me. Never felt the awful pain that I did, and still do. Never felt so disconnected with everything like I do. Never sat back and re-evaluated my life up to this point in time. Things I have felt, thought about, seen.
Just going through the motions of trying to appear normal. It's when I am alone, times like now, that it hits me all over again. He is gone. I will never hear his voice again. Never see his smile, never receive one of his massive warm hugs. Never sit with him in comfortable silence, with no need for any words.
My pain is for myself, my brother and sisters, but it is also for my Mum. The heartbreak of loosing the person you loved and lived with for nearly 50 years. I can't even imagine. It would be like loosing a part of yourself. My parents were in love since the day they met and never spent any long periods of time apart from one another.
Us four kids are not really into being the centre of attention. But we all spoke at Dad's funeral. My younger sister did the eulogy. I recited a poem I wrote (the day before). My older sister spoke about her time with dad and so did my brother. My brother in particular astonished me. He is a man of very few words, but he captivated everyone with his heartfelt speech.
I know people say that the pain gets less over the years. Maybe it will. But for now, it hurts like hell.

I miss you, Daddy.

Catch-up

Hey everyone.

Well I have good news and not so good news..
The not so good news first.

Hubby had his annual Heart check-up and the results were not good. Basically, without boring you with details, his heart is not doing so well.. we are looking at transplant. He is supposed to be taking it easy..not so simple with the business. Anyway, he took it pretty hard. Freaked him out a bit. And I am freaking out a little as well. But then it wasn't like it was unexpected. Still... it's not nice to have to face reality when you're not ready for it.

My Dad is doing ok. After he and Mum have finally moved into a house they are both a lot happier. And my little sister is living there to now. Not with them, in a place of her own. She is so cute. She was all excited on the phone to me about how she has to budget her money now. LOL.. Welcome to the adult world little sis.

Business is doing pretty good. My little coffee bar is slowly gaining it's regulars. We have customer loyalty cards now. Every 5th cup free. Yes I am that generous.. haha.

I was able to build myself a kick-ass gaming pc and I have re-discovered Skyrim...with MODS! Never thought I'd be a PC gamer, but I am hooked. Oh I still use a controller, so I haven't completely conformed.

Been getting into my art again. When I have time to do it that is. Just a canvas, a tag and a little mixed media book. I will post pics when I can..

I've been thinking of creating a new blog page dedicated to my art work. I have my name registered now, under our corporation, so I need to start promoting. What do you guys think of another blog here on Blogger? It means I will be around here more as well..

Ramblings and some news

So first off, my son celebrated his 14th birthday a couple of weeks ago. He had two friends for a sleepover and LAN party. For those not in the know (or should I say for those of you who aren't giant geeks) a LAN party is when you bring all your computers to one location and connect them all via cable and game together. Well this was Hubby's element so the boys were in good hands. We also took them out for authentic Italian pizza and a gorgeous rich chocolate cake that I made.

We are now officially the coolest parents. Ever. Oh and I LOVE his friends because they thought I was in my twenties... hehehe.. Hubby is mortified..the poor dear. :) (which reminds me, I will have to blog about my 40th. It was super special)

Now....
I FINALLY GOT THE CAR I WANTED!!! Yes.. I have a Subaru Forester. It's all silver and we got the windows re-tinted and I LOVE her! yes...it is a she, and her name is YUKI (pronounced yooki). It's Japanese meaning is happiness and good fortune. She's so pretty. We got a really good price for her and the previous owner had it serviced all the time.

In other news.. Months ago we started seriously looking for a business to buy. Well we had one lined up. It was the sister company of the business Hubby was working at. An IT business that caters to the retail side, while the other company does business. To cut a long story short, the owner decided he didn't want to sell it, but now he has changed his mind again and we are now in a position to buy it. We are getting it for a really good price and at the moment it is very profitable, but with the things in mind we have for it, it could prove to be an extremely good investment. We are going to turn it into a kind a internet cafe place where people can come in, get their computers, phones, laptops fixed. Also we sell new, and we are going to offer How-to classes. As well as serving one hell of a good coffee. Did I tell you I am a qualified Barista now? I can't remember, anyway, I am and we are going to put a coffee machine in there.

I can't really think of much else. Our plans for christmas have gone a little awry... Hubby may have to miss a day or two at the holiday house we have booked near my folks, because of the shop..but oh well.

Oh.. I told you that Moby was living outside now (not in the shed at night) an while he has been very good, he did get in a fight the other night. Naughty kitty. He got a good smack in the face to. Not by me.. from the other cat. Anyway he is now sporting a badass cut on the side of his face. Don't worry, it's not bad and he is fine. He got a severe talking to from me though. Fighting at his age...

Look what my local supermarket had!!! I nearly fell over myself when I saw them.. I have been wanting to try authentic S'mores for so long! Toasted them Aussie-style...over the BBQ.. heh. And yeah, they were worth it for the devineness that was them (and also because now I know how to make them with aussie products). We don't have Graham crackers here, but I will find something similar. The only thing I didn't like about this kit was the chocolate they provided wasn't quite right. Not thin enough and the squares weren't right. But I will do my own research and make Aussie S'mores if it's the last thing I do on this good earth!!!

That's it for now. :)

Daily Planner.

So I haven't really had much time to be overly crafty lately. One project I am working on, however is a 2015 daily planner. I have spent a lot of time searching the Internet for the best way to set out my planner. What would be best to suit my needs and the closest one I found was the Erin Condrin Life Planner. Now I could have just ordered one of them (if I had a spare $50 - $70)..or I could do what I always do and just DIY it.

I set out the planner to have the week spread out over two pages, laying flat. Each day is in columns and broken into three sections: Morning, Afternoon and Evening. I have a section for a WEEKLY TO DO list and Saturday and Sunday are halved into the one column.. to give me a bit more width for weekdays. I printed out these pages on nice Strathmore cream drawing paper and bound the seven signatures (Groups of four pages) with dental floss. (dental floss for the waxed coating and it wont break. I bound all seven signatures together and then covered the loose book with a nice thick patterned card stock.

As for the cover I have gone for a hand made leather slip cover. I decided to make it a slip cover in case I wanted to make the same planner for the year after. It's a simple design. One long piece of leather, slightly higher than the book and then folded over and sewn to form the slip bits the book is held into place by.

I haven't done the cover yet, but I am quite pleased how the actual planner has turned out. It's very sturdy and firm, meaning I bound it well. My book binding has gotten a lot better since I last tried it. Yes I will post pics when it is all done.

Oh.. one thing I did work on a few months ago was this drawing. It's done with different black ink pens on the Strathmore Drawing paper...

It's pretty detailed and took me quite a few days to do. That colour is not true.. it's actually on cream paper.

And this is Moby unsuccessfully trying to be a sausage roll.

Sue the Subaru

I'm writing this while listening to my Husband and son bash away at a piece of our car. To clarify it's a car we bought from the wreckers and are trying to get it back to road worthy. It's not a bad little car. A Subaru Outback. When we bought it, it had a smoking engine and bald tires, rusty muffler and the driver's side guard has a sizable dent in it....which is what they are bashing at now..in the back yard.

It was destined for the scrap yard. To be honest I have every confidence in my husband to getting this car back into shape, even the dent. He has done up a lot of cars in the past. So this one was no different. The engine was completely torn down and put back together. ....

So I just had to go outside and inspect their panel beating. They have done a pretty good job. This car project serves a duel purpose. Hubby is using it as a bonding experience with the son. They have had a few issues since son has hit that terrible teenage milestone and they both need to work on their relationship. They have good days and bad. Mostly when hubby gets frustrated a job takes twice as long to do and son storms off in a huff. Or son had plans to sit on his electronics and doesn't want to be under the bonnet of a car... It's a slow process but they are trying.

Another good thing that has come out of this is that Hubby now knows a Subaru engine back to front and is finally going to get me the one I actually wanted.. the 4x4 Forester. YAY!

A Cause close to my heart

I don't know how many of you have heard of Endometriosis, but it is a debilitating disease that 1 in 10 women in Australia and New Zealand suffer from. There is no cure and current treatments are downing various pain meds, radical surgery or hormone treatment.  The pain meds are shocking. You have to swallow tonnes of pills just to mask most of the pain only to feel like a walking zombie. The surgery is painful and is not a guarantee of a fix as the Endo grows back. Hormone treatment is totally out of the question for those who want to have children.

Every month you wait with nervous tension as your period due date draws closer. Then suddenly..BAM! you are curled up in bed crying with the excruciating pain. You can't go to work, you can't look after your kids, keep up the housework, catch up with friends, even your partner sleeping next to you is too painful to bear. You swallow pain meds and lay there just waiting for the pain to subside so you can catch just a little bit of sleep.  Sometimes it lasts the entire period, sometimes just the first day. Sometimes it may even stop then start up again, getting a second wind, so to speak. In any case every 28 days, once a month this disease has you by the neck.

You are constantly on edge, you feel like a failure, you feel like no-one understands what you are going through. All this is happening while you are expected to just carry on and accept it.

How do I know? Because I have Endometriosis. My little sister has it to.

The two of us, along with hundreds of other very brave Australian women are campaigning to get a drug company called Bayer to import a drug that they have developed long ago to specifically treat Endometriosis. The drug is called Visanne and it has actually been approved by the Government to be used in Australia back in 2010. Bayer just don't see it as "Viable". They don't think that 1 in 10 women is enough to give us a choice on how we treat this disease.

They give a man Viagra to cure a limp penis but help hundreds of thousands of women deal with agony every month? A disease that rules our entire lives and that of out families! Bayer doesn't think we are worth it.

There has been a petition created to hand over to the drug company and it currently has over 73000 signatures, but we need 100000! It's not that far away and we can do it if we keep trying and keep up the fight. Please help me in signing this petition. Your contribution will help thousands of women like my sister and I take our lives back into our own hands and not live like animals.

PLEASE SIGN HERE!

Thank you

Whale Watching

Apart from my wedding day and the birth of my son, the day myself and my son and Mum went whale watching was one of the best days of my life. We headed out after lunch and the skies were grey and threatening. Going out into the bay we did get a bit of rain as we searched for whales.

Our first wildlife encounter though was a couple of playful dolphins who sped along the boat and then jumped the bow waves. Before anyone could get over the excitement of that encounter we heard the call "Whales!" Over to the right was a group of two. Our boat and the dolphins went to investigate. While our boat kept a respectful distance, the dolphins however decided that the whales needed to be teased. We were pretty far away though and soon the whales dived.

Throughout the day we encountered many small pods of whales. Most of them just lolling about on the surface until they dove again for deeper water. One whale in particular spent a good twenty minutes slapping his pectoral fin on the surface of the ocean.

The highlight of the day was when a group of three grew inquisitive and decided to surround our boat, sliding underneath and down the sides, eyeing us all as we cheered from the decks. I don't think I said "Oh my god" more than that day. It was one of the most thrilling things to see. These beautiful, majestic animals. I am getting all choked up now just writing about it. As one Italian tourist aptly put it; "F**k YEAH!"

I didn't get many good photos. It was just too exciting and I didn't want to be stuck behind a camera lens. I did get some really good videos which I can't post here. At the end of the day with the sun setting and the rain pelting down... I stood at the back of the boat looking out to sea. I was freezing cold and wet, but I didn't care. I was still riding that euphoric high having fulfilled one of my lifelong dreams to see the whales.  It is something I will never forget.

Has it really been....

...that long since I last posted?

Well, time and real life does fly by when you are busy. I was prompted the other day by a good friend to maybe revisit this blog. But what do I write about? There is so much to say and yet, today I find myself not really wanting to say anything at all. I am in one on those moods. I guess I could be clinical and do a point by point on the happenings of the Sprite family.. I guess I could do it that way. But that's not really exciting isn't it? Anyway seems like, for now, until I get my "blogging" grove back, that is what you will have to contend with..or not..

ME: Well I have had a cancer scare (don't worry, all is well). But coming out of that I was FINALLY diagnosed with having Endometriosis. You have no idea what a relief it is to finally have a name to this terrible debilitating pain I experience every month. My little sister has it to and she even underwent the surgery. Not that it worked.. those little Endo buggers do like to grow back. I opted to go the less invasive route and am on a low dose of the pill, which delays my period so that I now only get it every three months. Four times a year. I am yet to see if the pill works in stopping the pain as I don't have a period due until November. Only time will tell. But hey, only having to deal with excruciating pain only four times a year? I don't really care if it works or not.

I have registered my name/art business and will be making a web site soon. It's very exciting :)

My eye is still stupid. I have lost a bit of vision from it but at the moment it is stable. I just have to bombard it with steroids whenever it flares up.

HUBBY: is fine. He had his Defibrillator put in last year and it all seems to be working. He is now the proud owner of a Brown belt in Karate and is working hard to get to black. At the moment he is a happy chappy, doing up a second car for us. He is in his element under the hood of a car.

SON: my teenage Aspie boy has had his ups and downs. We put him into normal school this year. At the beginning it was a little rough for him, as he didn't get the concept of homework and assignments being due when they are due. Time management was an issue. He made friends quickly though, which was good. He has settled down into school life now and rides to school every day.

He is also a member of the AirForce Cadets here. He absolutely loves it and is considering a career.

He is becoming more and more of a genius when it comes to anything technological, sometimes he even surpasses my Hubby, who has had many years in the IT industry.

FAMILY: Well mostly no news when it comes to my family except for my Dad being diagnosed with Lung cancer. It was a bit of a shock for all of us. He has been having chemo and was not very well for a while, until the doctors found he also had a bad infection, caused by the cancer. That was treated and his health started to pick up. Then we had another set back and the doctors had said that his long term prognosis is not good. While the cancer is stable, it is no longer curable. In saying that, he is doing well at the moment and has even started up a few hobbies. He rang me excitedly today and told me about his new wood burning project. While we were all pretty much prepared for the prognosis, it is still scary. I mean, he's my Daddy. I'm sure you know what I mean.

We almost bought a business. It was a cute little homewares store and Hubby and I were very excited about it. But then things started getting dodgy and the seller and her Solicitor got nasty and Hubby and I didn't like how it was going, so we terminated the contract. Unfortunately the seller does not wish to re-negotiate the contract and so that door has closed. Yeah, we were pissed off.

But, we do have another little business we looked at before that we might buy. It's an antique/vintage/second hand shop and it's adorable. Really cheap and doable with the money we have. Considering Hubby and I set up our own company and family trust, then we have to do something.. otherwise we are this entity with no substance to it.. haha..

OO! I almost forgot, son and I went Whale watching...but that I will leave for next post :)

If cats used logic...

Sometimes I really wish my cat Moby knew how to reason. Use a bit of logic in day to day life. Things like these:

"Hmm.. well it's two hours before my dinner time. I don't think I will start my incessant meowing just yet"

or

" I get yelled at when I destroy the screen and let myself in, better not do THAT again"

or

"4am really IS too early for breakfast."

and even this:

"I should probably not walk in between their legs, I could be a tripping hazard"

Lady cave. (That just sounds so wrong.)

But seriously, I DO have my very own SheDen. Today I had delivered a cute little blue couch we found for $50 at the second hand shop. It even came with matching cushions. Now it is sitting in my art/craft/tv/xbox room with my furry little baby animal toys draped all over it. (Yes I have stuffed baby animal toys. Wanna make something of it?). I will explain the toys in a minute.
I have my little laptop desk set up and also a shelving unit that gives me more storage space and a new place for the tv and xbox to live (replacing the big old bulky tv unit). Oh an I also have the wardrobe back. No sharing with the linen!
I almost feel guilty about having such an amazing room all to myself. Hubby got himself a nice big desk he has set up in our bedroom, so he is taken care of to.

Moby seems happy now.
We did hit a little bit of a rough patch when he went missing for 24 hours. I was a mess, Hubby was freaking out and poor son was carrying around a little piece of Moby's fur, crying his eyes out. But just on evening, the damned cat wandered back like nothing had happened. I could have strangled him for making us worry so much! He stays inside at night now and has a kitty playhouse outside. Not that he seems interested in it. He likes to lay, stretched out, right in the middle of the yard. *rolls eyes*..cats... This afternoon I caught him racing around the yard like a maniac. Just for the fun of it.

So the baby animals... every time we go somewhere, like a zoo or fun park, I buy myself a little souvenir, in the form of a stuffed toy baby animal. I don't have a heap. So far I have, a white tiger from Dreamworld, a polar bear from Seaworld, a whale from Hervey Bay and a meerkat from Dubbo Zoo. We are thinking of going to Underwater World soon so I might pick up something there. Hoping for an Otter or Seal :) Hey I am allowed to have odd little quirks. It's what makes us not boring :)

MOBY IS HOME!

So yesterday we were finally able to pick up Moby from his extended farm stay. He stayed inside for the night and is now comfortable with being outside. At the moment he is exploring the back yard. He has a nice big yard. A tree to climb. Boxes to hide in. Gardens to lay in. Sand to poop in. Birds to look at (they don't like him, he gets squawked at whenever he ventures out). He has also found out that he can sit on my craft room window sill and stare at me. Oh and a family to LOVE him :) What more could a kitty ask for?
So, when do I come back inside?

When life bites...

Heyho everyone. Wow I have not been on here for a while.. No excuses really, just purely didn't feel like it, was too busy, moved house, lost internet... Well, I guess they are excuses...make of them what you will. I probably wouldn't have even come back if a certain Ant friend of mine didn't suggest it.

Anyway, since I last wrote we have moved into a house. Still renting, not by the ocean any more but still in the same area. It's a nice house, more room for us and our ever growing soon-to-be teenager. Hubby has finally got his shed and I have finally got my own art room. YAY! Actually it's my Art, computer, xbox room. But it's all mine. Oh I do have to share it with the linen but it stays in the cupboard, so that doesn't really count. Also I get Moby back because this house is Kitteh Friendly! BOOYAH!
Yes Moby is still holidaying on the farm. Apparently he is having a grand old time, and has taken a liking to herding cattle. Who would of thought my cat was a cowcat?

You know what I DID realise when we were moving? As I hauled the 100th box of our crap down the four flights of stairs I realised I am getting too old for this shit. I am going to be the big four-zero next year and I do not wish to be moving boxes and lounges and fridges. Hubby has finally admitted that moving ourselves is a very, very stupid idea and next time we shall hire movers.  HUZZAH!

I am writing a book. Actually it's a fanfic based on an Xbox game I play so it will never be published. The friendly folks on my forum site seem to love it though so it's encouraged me to continue. So far I have written 40,000 words.

Yesterday was my all time favourite day of the year (apart from xmas and anniversary and birthday and all that stuff). What was it? I hear you ask excitedly.... It was CRAFT SHOW DAY!!! *sigh* Once again I battled my way through old ladies to hunt and gather more crafty supplies. Those old dears are ruthless! Anyway I have not taken photos yet so you will just have to wait on the edges of your seats for those.

You're doing aren't you? Sitting there waiting for me to post pics... yeah I can tell.. ;)

Now that I think about it, considering the length of time between this post and my last, I wouldn't if I were you. Maybe go for a coffee or something, do some banking, shampoo the dog... cause you never know when I'll be back again. heck I don't even know that myself....

Sir David Attenborough

So gutted with the news today that Sir David has had to cancel his Australian tour. He has undergone emergency surgery for a pacemaker. You all know how excited I was about seeing my hero. I am so disappointed.
But, as you also know my Hubby has recently had a pacemaker put in, so I know full well the hard road Sir David has ahead of him. I can only wish him a speedy recovery and hopefully he can reschedule his tour, after he is feeling well again.
I am yet to tell our son as he is away on school camp.. he will be just as disappointed. :(

A little research goes a long way.

I am so sick of people posting things on facebook without doing a little bit of research first to see whether it's true or not.
I mean, it only takes one or two clicks to search the snopes.com website. It's ridiculous and stupid.
There. I said it.
STUPID!!
I get so annoyed when I see these things in my news thread, because they are from people I know.. even family. Some times I let it go, but other times, when the post is potentially harmful I need to say something and just politely point out that the post is a proven hoax.
People who click and share these "READ THIS! THIS IS REAL!..." type posts are just adding to the masses of unnecessary hysteria, and making more stupid people too scared to leave their own homes for fear of  having their organs harvested, knocked out by Ether laced perfumes, or my favourite, contracting Leptospirosis from a soda can that some rat peed on.
Just the fact that it says "THIS IS REAL!!" in capital type, and followed by many exclamation marks no less, should give them a clue that this post may not be entirely true. Some of these hoaxes are so old, they have even had some editing done to them to bring them up to date with the times. So before you share these crap posts please, for the love of all that is left sane in this world, please do some research.

End of rant.

Dancing to your own tune.

Today I was stuck in peak hour traffic. Annoyed at being delayed and frustrated at the slow stop and start motions of the traffic. As I stopped at a set of lights I noticed a man at a bus stop tapping his foot.
"How odd" I thought. But then as I continued to watch this man, who looked like he'd just been for a jog, he suddenly broke out some funky dance moves, right there on the busy street in front of countless passers by. He wasn't wearing a MP3 player. There were no visible signs of headphones either. He then proceeded to walk/dance down the street, stopping periodically to dance on the spot. The dancing man instantly made my day and lifted my spirits. He had some moves.
He didn't care who saw him. He didn't care if anyone thought he was odd or off his rocker. He was just dancing. Dancing like there was no tomorrow.
Dancing to his own tune.
 I could do that.

Moby went to the farm.

No don't worry! He REALLY did go to a farm.. a real farm..
Here is the story:

You all know that Moby was staying with a friend of mine until such a time we were in a place we could have him. Well my friend had to go down south to be with her dying mother, and so the next door neighbour was looking after Moby.
Yesterday I got a frantic phone call from her telling me that Moby had gone feral. Ripping up screen doors and windows and annoying the neighbours. Also a man who lived across the road was threatening to kill him. He had already thrown pots and things at him.
It was typical anxiety behaviour. He was used to being inside and suddenly he was outside and he is getting old and the weather is starting to get cold.  He is a very sociable cat so he was also lonely. It wasn't his fault.

We didn't know what to do. None of the refuge centres would take him, and the RSPCA would only take him if he went on the TBE list (to be Euthanized)!! None of our friends would take him either. My son and I pretty much spent the day crying, and I made a few sobbing phone calls to Hubby.

Then son had a brainstorm.. what about his friends place? they live out on a farm, they have heaps of animals, cats, dogs, mice, turtles, snakes, ponies, sheep...cows.... perfect!

Only trouble was, me and his mother kind of had a little bit of a falling out, and I was hesitant to ask her such a huge favour. But I was desperate and needed a home for my kitty. So I sent her a text and nervously waited for the reply.

"Sure!" she said.."no problem!"

Massive relief.

So today we collected Moby, gave him a flea treatment and took him to his new home. He has his own little section of the house, where he can see outside, look in through the window at the kitchen, and when he feels more settled, wander around the farm. They will have him there until we find a new place to live. Which needs to be in at least three weeks. We are looking at a place tomorrow so fingers crossed for us!

And what's also cool, is that we are all friends again. Which I feel really good about.

So Moby went to the farm, but it's not because he met with an untimely demise. He is on holiday! a Farmstay holiday!
