While I have been busy schooling my son and getting hubby ready for his operation in a couple of weeks, I have been focusing on my art journal in my down time. Doing nearly one double page a day. So here are just a few select scans. Some of these are a little shadowed but that is due to how the page scanned, not on the actual finished art work.

This one I had just bought my fabulous Caran d'ache wax soluble crayons and so I was experimenting with them on a pre-prepared background. The writing is part of my spring poem. |

Yes I DID draw around my hands :) |

Used bubble wrap as a stamp for the background on this page |

I made this background and loved it so much I decided to just leave it as is. |

this is me trying to draw a face..lol. It's kind of supposed to be me. the poem is mine. It's called "To Breathe" |
So like I said before, most of my pages have my own poetry on them, or verses taken from a longer poem I have written. I like to work in mixed media. I use acrylic paint, inks, stamps, wax soluble crayons, pen, gel pens, paint pens, texture paste. I also like to use all sorts of things to get some texture onto some of my pages (like bubble wrap!). It has made the book somewhat bulky and I'm not even a third of the way through yet..lol. But so far I love it and find it extremely therapeutic. You should try making one for yourself!
WOW, Sprite! You're really quite good!...I've seen artists and painters going on and on about how hard it is to do faces...especially noses. I've seen some of their work. Uhhhhh...yours is QUITE good!! Keep up the good work!....Sending good thoughts for your husband's operation too.
