Bon Voyage les Sprite famille!

So tomorrow morning, bright and early.. I'm taking still DARK...before even the birdies, we are off on our first trip in Anna. The car is packed to the hilt with stuff we have to then transfer to Anna when we get to the block (where Anna lives). Then it's just a matter of hitching her n and away we go.
I have only just realised that we won't get to watch the Olympic Games opening Ceremony as we don't have a tv in Anna. I am sure we will be able to *ahem* acquire it from somewhere.
So I will be using free wifi on our holiday but I may not have too much time to stop in here. I will if I can. We should be back next Friday.

Meanwhile.. I have been working on a new art project. It's an Art journal and so far I am pretty pleased with the results. I wont be showing some of the pages to you because they are pretty personal, but I can show you one I did the other day that I love! I used texture paste on it and I just love the way it turned out.
The photo really doesn't do it justice.. it is really shimmery and sparkly. here is a close up of the tail..
Like I said I used texture paste and a pallet knife to get the nice scale effect. The background is a watercolour wash, then dabbed with scrunched up paper. And yes, you DO spot my Mermaid poem there as well. I have decided to use my own poems and short stories in my journal. It just makes it more personal...even if it is in the background mostly covered by paint. It's all mine and meaningful. Not some random crap I found somewhere in the internet. :)

Hope you all have a great weekend and week ahead. And I am sure I will bombard you with photos when I get back!

  5. I love it and can't help thinking of your journal as some mysterious book uncovered in the distant future to the wonder of all. It gives off the feeling that it's the documentation of a magical adventure.
